Add a custom domain

Direct answer

Yes. On a paid plan, add a subdomain in Custom domains, point a CNAME to cname.provoon.com, run Check CNAME, then assign the host once it shows as Verified. After DNS passes, final approval may take 24 to 72 hours.

What you get

  • Branded URLs instead of default Provoon hosts
  • One subdomain can be assigned to a collection, wall, or brand page
  • SSL after the domain is verified (leave Cloudflare on DNS-only)

Step-by-step

  1. 1

Use a subdomain (not the bare domain)

Pick something like reviews.yourcompany.com, love.yourcompany.com, or proof.yourcompany.com. Root domains (yourcompany.com alone) are not supported.

  2. 2

    Add the domain in Provoon

Open Dashboard → Custom domains, enter the full subdomain, and click Add domain. You’ll see the exact CNAME target to copy.

  3. 3

Create a CNAME at your DNS provider

In Cloudflare, Namecheap, GoDaddy, Google Domains, or Hostinger DNS, add a CNAME. Host/name is the subdomain label (e.g. reviews). Value/target is cname.YOUR_APEX (shown in the product—typically cname.provoon.com).

  4. 4

    Cloudflare tip

If you use Cloudflare, set the CNAME to DNS only (grey cloud), not Proxied. Proxying often breaks verification and SSL.

  5. 5

Check CNAME & wait for approval

Back on Custom domains, click Check CNAME & submit. We confirm the CNAME points to Provoon. After that passes, final approval may take 24 to 72 hours. The domain shows as Verified only once it’s approved — then you can assign it.

  6. 6

    Assign it to a page

Open a collection page, Wall of Fame, or brand page studio → Custom domain → choose the verified host and turn it on. Shared Provoon URLs can redirect to your branded host while it’s active.

Example DNS record

For reviews.yourcompany.com:

Type: CNAME

Name / Host: reviews

Value / Target: cname.provoon.com

Proxy (Cloudflare): Off / DNS only

Troubleshooting

  • Don’t mix a CNAME and an A record on the same hostname.
  • After you add the CNAME, wait for verification (often 24–72 hours). Resubmit if needed — no need to re-add the domain.
  • SSL errors often mean DNS isn’t pointed yet, or Cloudflare is proxied.
  • Assign the domain from the page studio only after it shows as Verified — pending domains can’t go live.
