How to import Google Maps reviews by pasting the place URL
Direct answer
Yes. Open your business on Google Maps, copy the full place URL from the browser address bar, paste it into Provoon Import under Google Maps, and click Get Google Maps reviews. Pick each review with Add - nothing goes public until you approve it and place it on your Wall of Fame or embed.
Why paste the Maps place URL instead of hunting a Place ID
Most Google review widgets ask you to search a business name, paste a vague profile link, or set up a Google Places API key. That is noisy when you already have the pin open. Provoon takes the same URL you see in Maps - the /maps/place/... link - pulls matching reviews, and lets you Add only the ones worth showing next to pricing or a Wall of Fame. You stay in control. No Cloud Console. No dumping every 1-star complaint onto the homepage by accident.
How to import Google Maps reviews into Provoon
- 1
Copy the Google Maps place URL from the address bar
Search your business on Google Maps and open the correct pin (check name, address, and rating). Select the full URL in the browser address bar and copy it. A good link looks like google.com/maps/place/Your+Business+Name/@latitude,longitude/... - not a random search results page.

Paste it in Provoon Import and get the reviews
In your wall, open Import, choose Google Maps, stay on Import from URL, and paste into the Google Maps URL field. Click Get Google Maps reviews. Provoon saves that URL on each imported story as the personal / social link so visitors can still verify the source.

Click Add on each review you want
Provoon lists the fetched reviews with stars, date, and quote. Click Add on the ones that help buyers - skip the rest. You can return later for more. Selective Add beats importing everything and cleaning up after.

Approve and show it on your Wall of Fame
Open Collected if the story needs approval, then include it in Curate / Wall of Fame or an embed. Imports and fresh collection submissions share one inbox, so Google quotes can sit next to video you recorded in Provoon.
What gets saved from each Google review
Each Add stores the reviewer name, star rating, review text, date when available, a Google source badge, and the Maps place URL as the linked source. Edit typos carefully without changing meaning. Only republish reviews you have the right to show.
Practical tips
- Prefer the full /maps/place/... URL from the address bar over a truncated paste or a search-results link.
- Confirm the pin before you copy - same brand name in two cities will pull the wrong reviews.
- Business plan fetches up to 100 reviews per run; start with your strongest quotes, not the whole dump.
- Nothing auto-publishes. Add, approve, then place proof near decisions (pricing, product, CTA) - not only a buried reviews tab.
- If consent or Google terms feel unclear for a specific quote, leave it out or ask again with a Provoon collection link.
FAQ
Do I need a Google Places API key or Place ID?
No. Paste the public Google Maps place URL. Provoon does not ask you to create a Cloud project, enable Places API, or look up a Place ID string.
What Google Maps URL should I copy?
Open the business pin on Google Maps and copy the full URL from the browser address bar - typically a link that includes /maps/place/ and your business name. Avoid copying a generic search results URL that is not on the place page.
Do short Share links like maps.app.goo.gl work?
Use the full place URL from the address bar when you can. Short share links sometimes resolve differently; if fetch fails, open the place, wait for the long URL to load, and copy that instead.
Do imported Google reviews publish automatically?
No. Click Add on the reviews you want, then approve and place them on your Wall of Fame or embed like any other story.
Will new Google reviews sync by themselves later?
Treat import as a curated pull, not a live mirror. When you want fresh quotes, paste the same Maps URL again and Add the new ones. That keeps weak or off-topic reviews off your site.
Can I mix Google Maps imports with video testimonials?
Yes. Imports and new collection submissions live in the same workspace and can feed the same wall, nudge, or social export.
